Thai province of Trat is concerned about the fate of a tree growing on the island of Ko Kai Hua Rho off the east coast of Thailand, Hong Kong's South China Morning Post reports.

Over the past few months, the xylocampus, which seems to be growing out of water, has become popular with travelers. Due to the fact that tourists come here to take pictures in groups, the plant, which can withstand only five visitors at a time, began to die.

The inspection showed that due to selfie takers who climb the tree, it has already many branches have been broken off, and the massive root, by which the tree has been strengthened in the rock, has been fairly trampled and crumpled.
