Tour operators have reduced the amount of debt to tourists for canceled tours due to the COVID-19 pandemic and sanctions amid the geopolitical situation.
“If at the end of 2022 there were more than 2 billion rubles, then now, according to our estimates, it is definitely less than 1 billion rubles. And all this remaining amount is concentrated on small and medium-sized companies. Large companies paid off”,” TASS reports the words of the executive director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia Maya Lomidze.
In November last year, Maya Lomidze reported that the debts of tour operators were reduced to approximately 2-3 billion rubles for 2020– 2022.
