Sri Lanka may resume flights with Russia from October

Sri Lankan Minister of Transport Bandula Gunawardana announced plans to resume flights with Russia by mid-October.

According to RIA Novosti with reference to the Minister of Transport of Sri flights from Moscow to Colombo and back, and then from St. Petersburg.

Bandula Gunawardana added that other cities could be discussed later. Initially, flights between Colombo and Moscow should be restored, since, according to the authorities of Sri Lanka, Russia is also interested in this route.

It is clarified that Aeroflot had previously suspended flights to Colombo after the airline's aircraft was detained in Sri Lanka.
