Sales of tours in Russia have grown 7 times since the resumption of the Rostourism program and the Mir payment system. The most popular destination was the Imeretinsky resort in Greater Sochi. This conclusion was made by specialists of the online service for searching and booking tours Travelata.ru, after analyzing the results of the first days of the program.
On March 15, the joint program of Rostourism and the Mir payment system resumed. By paying with a Mir card for a trip around Russia scheduled from March 15 to June 30, 2022, tourists will receive a cashback of 20% of the tour cost, but not more than 20,000 rubles. In the first days, sales of tours in the Russian Federation increased by 7 times. Now 83% of tour packages are sold in Russia and only 17% – abroad. The Imeretinsky resort in Greater Sochi became the most popular destination, and St. Petersburg became the most accessible. This is evidenced by the data of the Travelata.ru online service for searching and booking tours, collected on the basis of a consolidated analysis of the results of sales of tour packages from leading Russian tour operators.

In the period two weeks before the start of the Rostourism program and the Mir payment system, the average check for tours in Russia was 33,000 rubles. Since the resumption of the program, it has risen by 27% to 42,000 rubles.
The most expensive resort was the central Sochi. The most affordable tours are to St. Petersburg.

The cheapest tour in Russia purchased since the program resumed Rostourism and the Mir payment system, cost 9,166 rubles. For this money, one tourist purchased a tour for 2 nights in St. Petersburg with accommodation in a hostel without food.
The most expensive tour in Russia, bought since the resumption of the Rostourism program and the payment system Mir, cost 152,112 rubles(the maximum cashback is still limited to 20,000 rubles). For this money, two adults and two children fly for 13 nights from Krasnoyarsk to Adler to a 4 * hotel without meals.
Russians choose three rubles
3* hotels rank first in preference among Russians who have used the Rostourism program and the Mir payment system, with a share of 68%. In second place, with a significant lag, are 4 * hotels – 16%. The third place in popularity among 1 * and 2 * hotels – 6%. Boarding houses and sanatoriums were chosen by 2% of vacationers. Only 1% of tourists will go to 5* hotels. Other types of accommodation accounted for a share of 7%.
Breakfast is a priority
Most of the tours in Russia purchased under the Rostourism program and the Mir payment system include breakfast — 53%. In second place are tours without food – 27%. Tours with breakfasts and dinners in third place – 13%. Tours with three meals a day have a share of 6%. And holidays with the “all inclusive” system are chosen by only 1% of tourists.
Vacationers plan trips a month in advance
Before the start of the Rostourism program and the Mir payment system, Russians bought tours an average of 24 days before departure. With the resumption of the program, tours began to be booked an average of 31 days before the start of the trip. 38% of tours are booked for April, 23% of tours for the next week, 15% for June, 13% for May and 11% for the end of March.
