Russians go to Greater Sochi: hoteliers predict pent-up demand for the summer

Greater Sochi is now the most popular resort in Russia, 83% of Russian tours are booked in this direction. Specialists of the online service for searching and booking tours analyzed the cost of holidays on the sea coast of the Krasnodar Territory in the off-season. At the same time, RODINA Grand Hotel & SPA predicts an increase in demand for the summer period.

Tourists who purchase tours to domestic resorts mainly choose Greater Sochi as their holiday destination. 83% of tours in Russia are booked in this direction. This is evidenced by the data of the online service for searching and booking tours, collected on the basis of a consolidated analysis of the results of sales of tour packages from leading Russian tour operators.

Despite the fact that the opening of the swimming season is still far away, the most popular resort inside Greater Sochi is beach Adler, where 85% of tourists go.

Preferences for organized destinations Russian tourists who purchased tours to Greater Sochi in the spring of 2022:

  • Adler – 85%
  • Sochi Center – 6%
  • Krasnaya Polyana – 5%
  • Other destinations – 4%

On average, Russians pay 33,000 rubles for tours in Sochi. At the same time, the most expensive resort is Krasnaya Polyana, the average check for a vacation here is 51,000 rubles. Rest in the center of Sochi will cost 45,000 rubles. And the most affordable destination is Adler with an average cost of 30,000 rubles per tour.

On average, the duration of a holiday in Greater Sochi is 6 nights.

The hoteliers themselves predict an increase in demand for the summer period. This is due to the fact that many tourists are waiting not only for the warm season, but also for the stabilization of the situation in the country.

“We predict that the current situation (while maintaining relatively closed borders) will inevitably lead to huge pent-up demand for the summer period, and possibly for the autumn-winter (lower season).
