On July 19, 2022, in order to monitor the implementation of the program for the development of domestic Russian air transportation, Deputy Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Vladimir Poteshkin held a meeting with representatives of leading Russian airlines.
The preliminary results of transportation for the first half of the summer of 2022 and the prospects for operating activities of airlines in the upcoming winter were discussed season.
According to airlines, the cost of air tickets for domestic flights in June-July 2022 remains at the same level as last year. At the same time, a number of airlines have a slight decrease in the level of tariffs compared to the summer season of 2021. Airlines continue advertising sales and are working to expand the geography of flights, opening new routes and increasing the frequency of flights on existing ones. This allows passengers to purchase tickets at affordable prices.
Taking into account the measures taken by airlines to optimize route networks, by the end of July this year, it is expected that the target indicators for the implementation of the domestic air transportation program will be achieved.
The meeting was attended by the head of the Department of State Tourism Projects and Tourism Safety of Rostourism Nina Novikova. We discussed issues of interaction between airlines and tour operators to develop domestic tourism in the summer of 2022. In addition, the representative of Rostourism drew the attention of airlines to the tourist cashback program, which has a wide network of destinations in all regions of Russia.
The Deputy Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency also recommended that airlines take into account the tourist cashback program when planning their winter schedule, which can provide additional opportunities to expand the geography of flights in the winter season.
At the end of the meeting, Vladimir Poteshkin stressed that in July and August the volume of air transportation has been significantly increased and, in general, is aimed at ensuring the transportation of citizens on vacation. In this regard, airlines have been instructed to take all comprehensive measures for high-quality and regular air traffic during the high tourist season, paying special attention to the transportation of organized groups of children.
