Masters of hospitality launch a school of actors of the tourism industry “Master Camp”

Competition “Masters of Hospitality” – a project of the presidential platform “Russia – a country of opportunities” – launches the school of actors of the tourism industry “Master Camp”. A series of educational programs for representatives of the tourism industry will be held in different cities of Russia. The direction of the first of them is excursion activity. Guides and guides from all regions of the country will be able to undergo free training from November 16 to 19 in Saransk. Registration for the program is until November 7th.

The School of Tourist Industry Actors “Master Camp” is an educational platform for the “Masters of Hospitality” project, which implements training programs for representatives of the hospitality industry. The main goal of launching the school is the formation and development of professional competencies of tourism industry specialists.

“Masters of hospitality have long gone beyond the framework of a tourism competition: in three years, the project managed to create a community of like-minded people across the country with ambassadors – Ambassadors of hospitality in the regions, launch a mentoring program, a recruiting platform, and also give everyone an opportunity to see the hospitality industry at open business programs with industry leaders as part of face-to-face events in different cities of Russia. Another innovation of this year’s competition was the launch of a school of tourism industry actors, whose students can become specialists interested in their professional development,” says the General Director of ANO “Russia – a Land of Opportunities” Alexey Komissarov.

Head of the “Masters of Hospitality” competition Bogdan Kondratovstressed that each of the programs will be held in full-time format, and the areas of study will be determined depending on the request of the tourist community and the community of the Masters of Hospitality project: “We defined the main tasks of the School of Tourist Industry Actors “Master Camp” as the development of practical, professional skills of our participants, the creation of a communication platform for the exchange of experience between them and the experts of the school, as well as raising the prestige of professions in the hospitality industry.”

Educational programs are designed for professionals and young industry professionals representing a variety of areas of activity: hotel business, restaurant business, public administration in tourism, tour operators and others. The focus of the school's first program will be guided tours.

“Master Camp: Tour Guides” will be held from 16 to 19 November in the city of Saransk. A rich educational and leisure program awaits the participants: workshops, master classes, lectures and networking, a large practical part during a training walk around the capital of the Republic of Mordovia and beyond.“Designing and conducting excursions is a real art. It can be improved endlessly. At the master camp for guides, we will discuss how to combine classical and author's approaches in creating excursions. Guides and tour guides will exchange practices, tools, life hacks with colleagues, perform specialized individual and group tasks, and solve a local case on creating an excursion route. The main topics will be: excursion networking, author's excursions, tools for exploring the city, the experience economy, the guide's personal brand and promotion.

How can a guide develop a city? What makes a tour unique? How to work out a scenario for participants in walking tours? Can the local color help in the relationship with the guest? How to build a personal brand and why is it important to listen to yourself and others? Participants will answer these and other important questions for the profession during the course of the program.

The Masters of Hospitality competition has been running since 2019. For three years, more than 87 thousand people have become participants, of which more than 36.5 thousand in 2022. The main objective of the project is to acquaint and unite with one idea the people of the tourism industry who develop the tourist attractiveness of the country's regions, create conditions for their training, exchange of experience, creative collaborations.
