Finnish city removes Z from bus route names
Finnish city of Lappeenranta decided to remove the letter Z from the names of bus routes, writes Yle. This decision was made by the transport company after complaints from some residents of the city. There were not so many of them, but now all bus routes under the letter Z have become X. Previously, in two regions of Germany – Bavaria and Lower Saxony – introduced criminal liability for the use of the symbol Z. At the same time, as the authorities explained, the letter itself is not prohibited, however, in some cases, the use of the symbol can be regarded as support for Russia's actions in Ukraine. For the public display of the Z symbol, the authorities of Lower Saxony and the North Rhine region were promised to be punished – Westphalia.
