Emirates and Maldivian enter into cooperation agreement

Emirates and Maldivian have announced an international partnership that will allow Emirates customers to fly to 16 more popular atolls and islands in the Maldives, in addition to Male. This agreement is a successful continuation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last year between the two airlines, aimed at expanding the prospects for mutual cooperation.

The interline agreement will enable Emirates customers to gain greater flexibility when traveling to the Maldives, using both airlines' services and route networks on a single ticket, while also providing a comfortable and superior travel experience for its customers.

Travelers heading to the Maldives can now reach the most popular holiday destinations with convenient connecting flights from Velana International Airport in the northern Male Atoll. Emirates passengers will be able to use Maldivian services to travel seamlessly throughout the archipelago.

Flights will begin operating from September 15 and tickets can be booked on emirates.com, the Emirates mobile app or through travel agencies.

Emirates customers can fly via Male to several popular airports including Dharavandhoo (DRV), Fuvahmulah (FVM), Gan (GAN), Kooddu (GKK), Hanimadhoo (HAQ), Kaadedhoo (KDM), Kadhoo (KDO), Faresmatoda (FMT), Funadhoo (FND), Kulhuduffushi (HDK), Hoarafushi (HRF), Madivaru (LMV), Maavarulu (RUL), Timarafushi (TMF) and Ifuru (IFU) airports, as well as Maafaru International Airport (NMF).

In addition, vacationers on other islands will also be able to get to their desired destination with just one short trip by seaplane or boat.

As the partnership between the two airlines develops, new opportunities will be added for customers traveling to the Maldives.

Emirates has been supporting tourism and trade in the Maldives for over three and a half decades. The award-winning international airline began flying to Male in 1987 and currently operates 28 flights a week between Dubai and the Maldives. Thanks to this, customers from almost 140 destinations on the Emirates route network can easily book convenient flights and travel to the islands with minimal transfer time.
