Russian airlines are resuming flights to Sri Lanka. Janita Abevikrema Liyanage, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Russia, announced this on Friday.
“The main news for us is the resumption of Aeroflot flights on October 9th. Two flights a week are scheduled and the first flight will be performed on Sunday, and the next one will take place on Thursday. In addition to this, AZUR air received all permits to operate charter flights from Moscow to Sri Lanka from November 3rd. The airline will operate four flights a week. This morning I had negotiations at the Federal Air Transport Agency to get all the final confirmations. From next week we will have two flights and from November 3 – six weekly flights,” she said at a press conference, Interfax reports
Janita Abevikrema Liyanage also dismissed that there is currently a discussion on launch of SriLankan Airlines flights.
